Yesterday we launched our new Get Healthy at Work Action Plan with an Introduction to Yoga. We partnered with Annah of Padaba Yoga to provide our staff for some gentle exercise options, which are not only good for the mind, but for the body too. It is amazing what slow movement using your own body work can do! Annah started the session with a short presentation on the benefits of yoga, which includes, calming the mind, relieving stress, improving posture, concentration, muscle tone and flexibility. Then, it was time to teach our staff how to slow down their breathing, be present and try a few yoga poses. To finish was yoga nidra - the deep relaxation, which may have been the favourite part. Over the next few months, we will have education on nutrition, tips and advice on preparing healthy meals and snacks, as well as an introduction to pilates. Our Get Healthy education series is funded by the Get Healthy at Work NSW State Government programme.
